<ul><li>Cloud-native software is not the same as on-prem software that has been lifted and shifted to the cloud.</li><li>While both have potential benefits – including cost savings and risk management – solutions built natively for the cloud offer better efficiency and scalability than migrated cloud-based software.</li><li>As vendors jump on the cloud bandwagon, equivocation on the meaning of cloud-native is common (known as “cloud washing”). Buyers need to be vigilant.</li></ul>
