Q: How has Enfusion supported your firm’s growth?
A: Disciplina has used Enfusion since 2021. In late 2023 and in early 2024, Disciplina expanded its partnership with Enfusion managing two new funds.
We recently onboarded an SMA (Segregated Managed Account) and our commingled fund. The onboarding process with Enfusion was very smooth for these new funds. Enfusion established linkages to our prime brokers quickly and accurately. This benefit of Enfusion is widely recognized in the industry.
Another strength of Enfusion is its ability to maintain multiple custom commission and financing schedules, including equity swap financing schedules, based on different funds. This customization gives us a more accurate picture when calculating trading expenses and costs.
Q: How does Enfusion’s modular approach support your workflows?
A: As a quantitative equity fund based in Asia, Disciplina’s daily workflow begins each morning with generating an order basket through an in-house proprietary OMS system. This basket is sent to the firm’s execution brokers through Bloomberg’s Execution Management System (EMS).
Enfusion’s open architecture allows Disciplina to tag allocations for different funds and send this data to Enfusion on a scheduled basis or through manual triggering, as needed. Once the data is in Enfusion, they run a daily trade matching process against the broker side to ensure perfect matching. Finally, after successful matching, they send trade allocations for each fund to their various counterparties (including prime brokers, fund administrators, and middle office providers).
How does Enfusion track and respond to corporate actions?
Given a high trade volume as a quantitative equity fund dealing with multiple Asian exchanges, Disciplina relies extensively on Enfusion’s corporate actions functionality. The Corporate Actions dividends and splits features automatically adjust positions for corporate actions, especially stock dividends. This automation makes it easy to extract insights into ratio payouts and transfer updated position information to their internal OMS system at the start of each day.
